Anxiety and Mood Counselling

A therapeutic option to support daily functioning

Mood and anxiety affect our everyday life and the way we live it.

Mood counselling (therapy focused on things like depression, low mood, irritability, or emotional ups and downs) exists because mood isn’t just something you can “snap out of.” It’s influenced by thoughts, biology, life experiences, and habits—and sometimes it needs structured support to improve.

Anxiety counselling is a type of therapy focused on helping you understand, manage, and reduce anxiety—whether that shows up as constant worry, panic, overthinking, or physical symptoms like tension and restlessness.

Anxiety Counselling

A collaborative process between therapist and client

Sessions focus on: understanding your anxiety, identifying thought patterns, learning coping strategies, changing your relationship with anxiety, facing fears gradually (if needed), and building long-term resilience.

Anxiety counselling doesn’t aim to eliminate anxiety completely (that’s not realistic).
It helps you:

  • Understand it
  • Manage it
  • Stop it from controlling your life

Mood Counselling

Why is it necessary?

Because mood affects everything, negative patterns get stuck, you can't always see your own blind spots, underlying causes need attention, skills are not always inuitive, humans aren't meant to handle everything alone, it can prevent situations from getting worse, and it supports long-term change, not just temporary relief.

We need mood counselling because mood struggles are often:

  • Complex
  • Reinforced by patterns
  • Hard to change alone

Counselling gives you insight, tools, and support to shift those patterns in a lasting way.

Anxiety and Mood Counselling

You don't have to do this alone; we are here to support you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Anxiety counselling helps you move from: feeling controlled by anxiety → to feeling capable of managing it

It doesn’t erase anxiety completely—but it gives you the tools and confidence to live your life without it holding you back.

Mood counselling helps you move from: feeling stuck in low mood → to understanding it, managing it, and gradually improving it

It’s not about forcing yourself to “be happy”—it’s about building the skills and insight that make feeling better possible and sustainable.

Finding a therapist can sometimes feel like shopping for a pair of shoes. It can take some time to find the right pair that is a blend of comfort and style. Therapists can be the same way; we all have different personalities and self-expression within the therapeutic relationship. Thus, it can take some time to determine if a therapist is the right fit. The other challenge is that sometimes therapy can stir up uncomfortable feelings and push us to grow. This can cause us to question whether the therapist is right for us. If you do not feel like your therapist is a good fit for you, then feel free to talk with them about it. We are here to help you, but if the help we provide does not feel right, then we want to know.

Individual counselling sessions are $175 per 60-minute session.
